Chester awaits summer celebration

Those interested in the region’s arts and culture can head into Chester city centre to check out this year’s Chester Heritage Festival Summer Celebration, which is for the first time being held in cooperation with Picturehouse Chester.

The activities will feature favourites from previous Chester Heritage Festivals alongside some new experiences. For example, you’ll be able to watch a film made exclusively for the festival or take a 45-minute tour that will cram in Chester’s two millennia of history. The Welsh Dee Trust will be there teaching people how they can help to conserve the River Dee and the indigenous birds, fish, plants and animals that live in and around it.

The event’s website says:

“Join us on Sunday 28th July for the first ever Chester Heritage Festival Summer Celebration in partnership with Picturehouse Chester. We'll be down on Exchange Square and inside Picturehouse Chester from 11am until 6pm with a variety of FREE activities for all the family.”

You’ll also be able to express your creativity in a variety of crafts when you board the Artbus Chester. For example, you’ll have the opportunity to paint stained glass designs with conservators of stained glass Recclesia or make your own medieval clay tile. These are just a few examples of the many activities on offer.

When you have student accommodation near Chester city centre, you can easily make the most of free events like the Chester Heritage Festival. Fortunately, the city has plenty of options available, sometimes with no deposits to pay upfront and bills included in the rent.
