The popular Chester Christmas Market is now open as the city gets into the festive swing with a series of events.
A series of parades and light switch on events will take place across the city through November and December. The market will be open every day of the week from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm. It will also be open until 8 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Lisa Denson, a councillor with responsibility for a fairer future, said:
“Our Christmas Market is a magnet for residents and visitors alike, as soon as the stalls open you can feel the Christmas excitement starting. In Chester of course we also have the Chester Indoor Market that is currently celebrating its second birthday and has welcomed a staggering five million visitors since opening.”
From November 22 until December 24, visitors will also be able to visit Father Christmas in the Grosvenor Shopping Centre at his grotto. He will also be making appearances at the Grosvenor Museum and Chester Cathedral. You will also be able to see him at Chester Town Hall, where his elves have set up a workshop for arts and crafts.
Chester Indoor Market will also be getting into the festive spirit with choir performances. The parades will also kick off on November 21 with the 12 Days of Christmas parade.
