Chester University gives out first Catalyst awards

The Business School at the University of Chester has hosted a ceremony at which it gave out the first-ever Catalyst awards to recognise the contribution to progress made by staff, students, and organisations and businesses in Cheshire.

The event gathered together business representatives, staff, the Economic Development Team at Cheshire West and Chester (CWaC) Council, international students, and other partners. The pinnacle was the award ceremony at which Senior Lecturer Karen Cregan, student of Events Management and International Tourism Management Carlotta Villa, and Aaron and Partners Solicitors were celebrated as drivers of progress over the past 12 months.

Chester Business School’s Dean, Associate Professor Kirstie Simpson, said:

“This event has been a real celebration of the impact created when our students, staff and stakeholders come together. We are celebrating those individuals who act as a catalyst for progress in their community, be that as a student, an academic or a working professional.”

She added that the awards sought to celebrate pioneering innovators in business, such as by running their business in a sustainable and inclusive manner or bringing fresh offerings to the market. She also thanked everyone who had contributed to the event and those who had joined them in participating in it.

Events like this demonstrate how the University of Chester offers a full student experience. If you find yourself in Chester and in need of accommodation near Chester University, you can find quality shared student housing in popular areas like Hoole and the Garden Quarter, sometimes with no up-front fees.
