Chester Zoo has found itself in a prime position for winning one of the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2024/2025, after being selected as a finalist for three categories.

The awards recognise the organisations and people driving the tourism sector in Cheshire. Marketing Cheshire, which organises the awards, said its judges again had to select from a record number of entries. Its chairperson, Trevor Brocklebank, said the breadth and quality of nominations from around the region was outstanding every year, adding:

“It’s also great to see the new Best Event or Festival category attracting a host of entries. Our region welcomes over 36.3 million visitors each year and every one of our finalists play a huge part in the continued success of Cheshire and Warrington’s world-renowned tourism gems.”

Chester Zoo made the finals for the Team of the Year category thanks to its outstanding behind-the-scenes work, especially for its new enclosure for snow leopards. It is also a finalist in the Wedding Venue of the Year and Visitor Attraction of the Year categories. Other Chester attractions with a chance of bagging an award include Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, The Chester Grosvenor, the Dead Good Ghost Tour, The Pied Bull, the Chester Cathedral Music Department, as well as Escapism Chester.

With so many attractions in Chester, it’s little wonder that many people come to Chester to study. If you’re one of them, you can find off-campus student housing in Chester with inclusive bills from Bed Student Rentals. Check out our listings to learn more.
