Last chance to enjoy cinema in Chester park

Storyhouse has been running its “Moonlight Flicks” series of outdoor evening film screenings at its new home of Grosvenor Park, but there’s still time to catch the last film in the series.

The Storyhouse website describes the series as:

“…10 hand-picked films, from 80s classics and cult favourites to catchy musicals, heart-warming romantic comedies, and more! Settle into a deckchair and be fully immersed by our giant 30-foot screen with surround sound via headphones. Plus, make it the ultimate movie-watching experience with wood-fired pizzas and refreshing frozen cocktails.”

Guests have enjoyed classics like Mamma Mia!, Pulp Fiction, Grease, The Greatest Showman, and Dirty Dancing, as well as the more contemporary Barbie. The last film in the series on August 26 will be Wonka, which covers the early life of Roald Dahl’s iconic chocolatier, and will be shown at the earlier than usual time of 8:15pm to accommodate younger viewers. When booking tickets, you can also order some luxuries, such as beer and wine, freshly made pizzas from a woodfired oven, and seating for extra comfort. Being an outdoor event, the Storyhouse reserves the right to cancel the event should stormy weather or heavy rain make it unfeasible.
