Serving more than 14,000 students from nine different campuses with valuable advice and volunteering and work opportunities, Chester University’s Student Union (CSU) also promotes student wellbeing by holding engaging social activities.

Summer Ainscough, the CSU’s VP Student Elect for 2024 to 2025, recently outlined some of the union’s seasonal plans for the month ahead online via the union’s blog. The student of International Tourism and Management and Marketing Management has completed her first year and is taking a year out to serve Chester’s students full time.

She’ll be hosting the first of several Christmas “Board Game Nights” on Monday, December 2. The ongoing evening events are taking place at the CSU, found at the university’s Parkgate Road campus. This area has an abundance of Chester student lets in easy reach.

Students coming down to compete with their friends will find a selection of classic board games on hand including Guess Who, Monopoly, Uno and Herd Mentality, among others. All players will be treated to a free mug of hot chocolate to ward off the chills.

On Thursday, December 12, the CSU is joining forces with the 200 Degrees Coffee Shop for a Christmas Quiz. Students can come down to the popular café located inside the Grosvenor Shopping Centre on Bridge Street to test their trivia skills and knowledge of the festive season.

Chester University students keen to participate in either event can confirm their interest and find out start times online when they book a spot.
