Students seeking a retro experience over the upcoming bank holiday won’t have far to walk.

Located on Station Street, The Live Rooms is an easy stroll home from student accommodation in Chester city centre and close to kebab houses and pizzerias for a bite on the way back. While the venue is celebrated for welcoming live music acts to the stage it also hosts events dedicated to musical eras and Easter will see it usher in the 80s.

Good Friday (April 18) will see Rooms L1 and L2 in the venue feature a returning event called “Club Tropicana”. Named after the famous song by pop duo Wham! that reached number four in the UK singles chart in 1983, the evening event promises to be the biggest 80s night in the UK.

The party will get started at 8 pm and will run until 1 am on Easter Saturday. Students on a budget can buy their tickets online to enjoy reduced entry for just £6 (instead of £9 on the door).

Those coming down to the Easter edition can expect to hear some of the greatest names in 80s music on the playlist belting out their biggest hits into the small hours. These will likely include, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears, Erasure, Prince, UB40, Lionel Richie, The Human League, Bananarama, Queen, Culture Club and more.

The event is only suitable for those aged 18 or over.
