The University of Chester (U of C) recently celebrated a trio of successes when it received honours at the 2025 edition of the Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs).

The esteemed educator managed to hold on to the gold titles it had previously been awarded in two categories, “Best University in the UK for International Students) and and “Best University in the UK for Postgraduate Students”. It also earned the bronze award for its efforts in “Student Support”.

Along with the three awards, Chester University was hailed as North West England’s best university and ranked highest regionally for the “Facilities, Lecturers and Teaching Quality” class. It was also a runner up in the category of best Halls of Residence in the northwest thanks to its first-class Chester university accommodation.

Vice-Chancellor for the U of C, Professor Eunice Simmons, commented,

“It is truly an honour to be recognised in this way by our students and demonstrates the University’s commitment to the whole student experience, despite the continued challenges the whole higher education sector is facing.”

The awards ceremony took place in London on May 21. Hosted by well-known TV presenter, comedian and actor Alexander Armstrong, they celebrated the UK’s foremost higher education institutions and cast a spotlight on the universities that have excelled above others to support their students throughout the year.

The programme is the only awards event in the UK where educational institutions are reviewed and judged entirely by students. This year, over 36,000 reviews were collected and collated, and awards administrators noted an increase in satisfaction from students over previous results.
