Budding artists at Chester University’s creative campus Kingsway will get a chance to show off their skills this summer.

Student hotspot Telford’s Warehouse has announced it’s hosting an event entitled “The Paint Republic” in June, and is inviting people of all abilities to take part.

Led by a professional artist, the event combines partying with painting in a class featuring music and drinks. A two-hour experience, the event offers a judgement-free environment for people to paint, have fun and connect socially with like-minded art fans.

Under a mile from the university’s main campus and near Lower Canal Basin student rentals in Chester, Telford’s warehouse is a popular haunt for undergraduates. From the free entry Fridays for students that it offers to its spring festivals celebrating cider and beer, it’s not difficult to understand why.

Those attending the event can try some of the venue’s carefully curated selection of guest ales designed to reflect the bar’s passion for variety and quality alongside offerings from local breweries.

A picture will be chosen for painters to replicate in their own unique style with helpful instructions given. After the session, all taking part will have a completed canvas they can take home or gift to a friend.

The Paint Republic will now be held at Telford’s Warehouse on June 17. The event will get underway at 7 pm and finishes at 9 pm, but students can stay on to drink and dine. The bar and restaurant is based in the Canal Basin at Tower Wharf in Chester.
