April will see Exton Park campus host a special craft session for students at the University of Chester.

Entitled “Make Your Own Herb Garden”, the event is part of an ongoing series called “Crafternoons” and will take place in the foyer of the Student Union (SU). The well-equipped SU is easy for learners to locate on Parkgate Road close to Chester University accommodation.

The upcoming event aims to supply students with an opportunity to step away from their endeavours at the university for a chance to de-stress and unwind at a friendly and relaxed gathering. However, it also seeks to provide them with a supply of fresh herbs they can use in their cooking throughout the spring season, whether they are living in halls or beyond the campus in shared student housing in Chester.

Those coming down to the craft workshop won’t need any special skills or equipment to get involved. The SU will kit out attendees with plant pots, soil, paints and brushes along with a selection of herb plants to pick for planting. By the end of the event each student can take away a planted and painted pot for their windowsill to create a portable herb garden for their home-from-home in the city.

The Crafternoon session is only for students and will now be held on Wednesday, April 9 between 3 pm and 5 pm. There is no charge for taking part and all materials required will be supplied at the afternoon event.
