Students at the University of Chester who love both dance and classical music are in for a treat this year.
Chester Cathedral is presenting a concert within its Grade One-listed interior which combines both genres on St Valentine’s Day, making it an ideal date for music-loving students looking to celebrate.
The cathedral is sited on St Werburgh Street, not far from student accommodation in Chester. Titled simply “Ibiza Proms at Chester Cathedral”, the event aims to take concertgoers on a musical journey inspired by the Spanish island’s legendary club scene.
The concert boasts a gifted 40-piece orchestra, who will optimise the use of the cathedral’s astonishing acoustics performing classical retellings of some of the white island’s most iconic dance items. The live music setlist has been carefully curated to not only include famous club hits and bangers, but also more recently released tracks that have risen to renown in a short time. The accomplished orchestra will also be accomplished by gifted vocalists on the night.
The upcoming concert is open to those aged 18 or over and those wishing to attend are advised that the event is unseated. Tickets are now available to buy for £48.72 per person and due to the popularity of this returning event, music fans are advised to book early to avoid any disappointment.
The Ibiza Proms Chester Cathedral concert will now take place on Friday, February 14 in The Nave. The event has a start-time of 6 pm.
