
The University of Chester has an abundance of campuses that each focus on specific areas of study. While there are six different locations in the city, under the banner of the University of Chester, there are also sites across wider Cheshire and Shropshire in Warrington, Birkenhead, Reaseheath and Shrewsbury. However, here we look at the six university’s campuses in Chester.
Exton Park
Once known as “Parkgate Road” after its location, Exton Park is considered the heart of Chester University. Just 10 minutes away from the city centre it has multiple schools of study. The campus is home to the Student Union bar, a dining hall and multiple cafes. It houses the Seaborne Library and has impressive sports facilities. These include a swimming pool, running track, gym and multiple pitches and courts.
Bache Hall
Located on Parkgate Road in Chester, Bache Hall supplies Chester Medical students with access to up-to-date research equipment and facilities.
Kingsway
Sometimes called the “creative campus”, Kingsway is a modern campus with various rehearsal spaces, workshops and custom studios. All areas are well-provisioned with cutting-edge equipment and technology.
Queen’s Park
The base of the university’s multi-award-winning business school, Queens Park has many features. These include spaces for private study, a bespoke business library and state-of-the art computer suites.
Wheeler
Situated near the Dee stands the Wheeler Building. Close to the city centre it hosts a variety of facilities for students covering multiple disciplines, from modern science labs and simulation suites to art spaces and cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) technology. It also boasts multimedia and computer rooms and the respected Wheeler campus library. Due to its location, the campus is sometimes referred to as Riverside.
Gateway House
Sited in Chester’s cultural quarter, Gateway House is adjacent to city art hubs like the Chester Picture House and Storyhouse and is the relatively new home for the university’s courses in journalism and creative writing.
