As a university city, Chester has an abundance of accommodation options for students getting their degree. While there are a wide range of areas in easy reach of campuses popular for housing from Hoole to the Garden Quarter, some students select to live in the city centre.
Although numbers are often limited due to demand, flats, studios and rooms in houses are available in central Chester. As with most cities, living in the centre comes with a higher rent, although a central location may feel right for some students to put down their roots for the year.
Understandably, amenities are always close living in the city centre. You’ll always be minutes from entertainment, eating and drinking options, retail outlets, attractions and culture. You’ll also be just a short walk away from the University of Chester’s campuses and the city’s train station.
If you prefer a slower pace, however, the city centre might not be ideal for you. Moving further out can feel more like village life, and this may suit students who want to focus on studies and socialise in a more relaxed environment.
