A sports bar is Chester has set itself the target of raising a thousand pounds over the coming year to help a nearby cat charity.

Cosmo’s Pool & Snooker Club is located in Chester on Victoria Road. The bar was named in honour of the family cat of Jeremy Peel, 53, and his daughter Melita Peel, 16, after Cosmo died last year in December. Cosmo had been adopted from the Cats Protection North Wales Cat Centre in Wrexham, which finds homes for around 350 cats every year.

Melita said that her and her father:

“…have always loved cats and when we adopted Cosmo he really changed our life. He was comforting and funny after a long day at school or work. However busy the day had been, I would get home and Cosmo would greet me with a purr and flick of his tail.”

She added that after Cosmos passed away, it only seemed natural that the bar should be named after him. The bar will also be raising money for the charity by organising events, such as pool and darts tournaments and a fancy dress party at Halloween.

Cosmo’s will be another welcome addition to Chester’s entertainment scene, which draws many people to come and work or study in Chester. If you’re a student looking for Chester university accommodation, Bed Student Rentals has a range of shared accommodation available with no upfront fees to pay and utility bills included in the rent.
