Students at Chester University have organised an event called “Bubbles and Bingo” for Love Jasmine, the Liverpool-based charity.
Featuring sparkling wine and bingo, the occasion will take place at Chester Racecourse to help raise funds for the worthy cause. The oldest active horse racing venue in the world, the racecourse is located on New Crane Street in easy reach of student accommodation in Chester city centre.
The charity event aims to combine the enjoyment of a classic bingo night with fun prizes and excellent hospitality. Food and equipment like dabbers and bingo books will all be provided on the night, which is designed to appeal to seasoned bingo professionals and complete novices alike.
Bubbles and Bingo was arranged by Chester University’s Business School organising team called Eventopia, comprised of four student members. As spokesperson for the team, Jess Fisher, commented that they felt privileged to work in partnership with the charity and have an impact, adding:
“We can’t wait to finally hold this event in aid of Love Jasmine. After lots of teamwork and tough decisions, we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to experience the memorable night that it promises to be.”
Love Jasmine was founded by Kathy and Rob Lapsley two years after their daughter Jasmine died in 2014. The charity provides bereavement services and support to families who lose a child aged from 20 weeks gestation up to adulthood. Love Jasmine takes a holistic approach when supporting families, based on the understanding that each person deals with the trauma and grief of loss uniquely.
