Liverpool’s Salt House Tapas is set to open a second restaurant in Chester on Bridge Street at Boheme’s former site.

The original restaurant opened in 2010 in Liverpool, and has enjoyed success since then. The new restaurant in Chester will feature a spacious bar for those just wanting a drink or waiting to be seated. There will also be space to seat up to 90 diners inside, along with a further 40 spaces outside when the weather permits. The restaurant will be open from noon every day of the week.

Laszlo Nagy, the head chef, has experience of over 13 years and a number of accolades to his name, including two AA rosettes and a Green Michelin Star. In the BBC television show Great British Menu, he was a semi-finalist in the heats for the North West.

Luke Creedon, who became a co-owner alongside Matt Robinson this year, said:

“We’re thrilled to be bringing the Salt House Tapas experience to Chester. The city’s food scene is thriving and we can’t wait to share our passion for tapas with the local community. Our focus will be on maintaining the same high standards of food, drink and service that we’ve become known for…”

Chester certainly does have a thriving food and overall hospitality scene, with there being great opportunities for students to get good deals on the quieter nights of the week. If you’re a student looking for digs, you can find off-campus Chester student lets that don’t require an upfront deposit and have bills included in the rent.
