Following planning approval from Cheshire West and Chester Council, Chester Zoo has announced that its project named “The Reserve” and its 51 luxury lodges will open in August.
The textures and colours of the African Savannah are combined with home comforts in the cosy lodges. All the profits from stays will go to Africa to fund the zoo’s conservation efforts there. The luxury lodges come in four types, with there being a variety of packages to choose from at various prices. Bookings can be made online or by calling the zoo’s reservation team.
Chester Zoo claims to be the UK’s best zoo. At 51 hectares at the main site and a total land area of 160 hectares, it is one of the biggest zoos in the UK. It typically sees about 2 million visitors each year and is home to more than 35,000 animals over more than 500 species. It is commonly regarded as one of the best zoos in the world.
The website of Chester Zoo says:
“Wake up overlooking a private savannah, with giraffes grazing just a few feet away, or watch wildlife make our private lake their home, whilst getting ready to feast in our stylish restaurant. We promise you’ll never want to leave.”
If you live in Chester, there may be no need to stay in a lodge. Indeed, there’s plenty of student accommodation in the Garden Quarter and Hoole close to the main university campuses, with utility bills often being included in the rent.
