The 50th edition of the Chester Folk Music Festival is set to take place in Hoole on February 22 in All Saints Church.

Headlining the event will be Vocella in the afternoon, Hugh Bradley with Steve Tilston in the afternoon and Juniper in the evening. Also playing at the event will be the popular local folk band Fiddlestone. Kendall-based three-part harmony group Eskrigg will also be there. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a ceilidh in the evening to music performed by the The Time Bandits.

The event’s website says about the event:

“This year, the Chester Folk Festival proudly celebrates its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of music, dance, and community spirit in the heart of Kelsall. As we look back on this incredible journey, we’d love to hear your memories and stories of the festival over the years.”

Tickets can be booked on the event’s website, but admission may be available on the door if space permits. Visitors are welcome from noon, at which point they can enjoy a pint from the real ale bar or a coffee from the café. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a tunes session or singalong. They’ll then be able to view a dance display from 1.45pm.

If folk music isn’t your thing, Chester has a varied range of events and venues to suit all tastes. Bed Student Rentals provides bills-included student accommodation in Chester, so check our listings if you’re in need of somewhere to live.
