Based in the beating heart of Chester, Storyhouse is a multi-purpose arts hub that includes a theatre, cinema, bar, library, kitchen and collaboration space.
Students aged between 16 and 25 are eligible for its Young Storyhouse card, which offers impressive benefits and is completely free to register for.
Storyhouse screens a wide range of films from the latest releases to family favourites, cult classics and arthouse masterpieces from international directors. Titles confirmed for January include All of Us Strangers, Nosferatu, A Real Pain, Tokyo Godfathers and The Wild Robot, to name but a few.
Regardless of their favourite film genre, students who join Young Storyhouse can watch screenings for just £5. The arts centre also offers heavy discounts on comedy shows, plays, concerts and festival events, and sometimes supplies admission for free.
Young Storyhouse members can enjoy free tea and coffee between 8 am and 11 pm daily, and access Wi-Fi without charge in the co-working space. A 15% discount is also offered to students who show their digital card (on their phone) to staff at The Kitchen, Storyhouse’s onsite eatery. This extends to all food and drink on the menu, which includes full meals, snacks, bakes and small eating plates.
Storyhouse can be found on Hunter Street. Sited in proximity to student accommodation in Chester city centre and other areas like Hoole and the Garden Quarter, Storyhouse is ideal when signed-up students are looking for affordable eats or entertainment that won’t break the bank.
